Sports Mouthguards

Because Kids need to just play…..

Use of Mouth Guards

Mouthguard will improve your chances of protecting your teeth and jaw joints from serious injury. Many schools are now insisting that their pupils wear a sports mouthguard for their organised school sports. A properly fitted guard is easy to get used to and doesn’t dig into your gums or cheeks and it should not affect either your breathing or speech.

Personalised Fit

Not only are mouthguards made to fit your mouth, but they also have a special feature allowing your lower teeth to bite comfortably. We are able to customise the fit of your sports mouthguard to allow for some growth of adult teeth and shedding of baby teeth during your sports season.

Personalised Design

Choose from a wide range of patterns and colours or even co-ordinate your sports mouthguard with your school or team colours. Personalise it with your name and form or sports club and everyone will know exactly whom it belongs to!

Precautions and briefing

A mouth guard should be reviewed every 12 months by your dentist to ensure it continues to fit correctly, as children’s baby teeth begin to move as their adult teeth emerge, causing the mouth guard to then be a different shape to the child’s teeth.

Mouth guards help to absorb the shock experienced by a blow to the face, that might otherwise result in an injury to the mouth or jaw.

Mouth guards should be worn whilst playing and training for any sport that could involve contact to the face.

Mouth guards need to be washed in cold water (and could also be brushed with toothpaste) after use, dried and stored in a plastic container.

Mouth guards need to be kept in a cool place, as mouth guards can be distorted by high temperatures.

Children should not share mouth guards as this can transmit unwanted germs into your child’s mouth through the mouth guard.
